LONDON and PARIS – HERE I COME!

This summer\’s vacation is starting soon. I will be traveling to London and then on to Paris. British Airways flies non-stop from Phoenix to London – yeah, no stop-overs. My travel companions will be 15 people from Scottsdale Sea and Ski Club – an activities club based in Scottsdale, Arizona. I have been a member since 2006 and have had the pleasure to become good friends with many of the members.

This trip will take us from Phoenix Sky Harbor airport to London Heathrow airport. We will spend four days in London and then take the Chunnel to Paris. I will be reporting via this blog throughout the trip. Some of the activities we have planned, in addition to the normal sight seeing, we will lunch at Herrods, attending the theatre (The Carol King musical, Beautiful), riding Merlin Entertainment\’s London Eye, taking side trips which may include Bath and Stonehenge. If you haven\’t heard of the London Eye, check it out. It\’s a giant ferris wheel on the south side of the River Thames. Each pod holds 20-25 people and includes a bar! It\’s 443 feet high, so I think a good, stiff drink will be in order.

In Paris, again, we will be doing the normal sight-seeing activities, including touring the museums, a dinner cruise along the River Seine, day trips outside of Paris, and ending our visit with dinner at the Eiffel Tower.

I\’m in the middle of packing, or should I say, trying to pack. I purchased Samsonite travel bags that squeezes all the air out so my suitcase will hold more items. Let\’s see how that works. I\’m still limited to 50 pounds and one suitcase.  Wish me luck!
