May 6, 2014 : ROME, ITALY
I ended my stay in Positano, Italy be enjoying a celebratory dinner with my friends in honor of the McMillan\’s 9th wedding anniversary. It gave all of us a chance to dress up, which I always enjoy.
We packed up Tuesday morning and started the drive to Rome, Italy. Originally, we were going to be driven to the train station in Naples, but opted to hire the driver to take us all the way to Rome. It wound up being a very good decision. It didn\’t cost much more and there was no lugging our bags in the train station, and then find ground transportation to the hotel. I would highly recommend the transport company, Astarita Car Service Serrento, if you find yourself in need of a driver in the Naples/Sorrento area. There website is www.astaritacarservice.com.
We arrived at our hotel, Colonna Palace Hotel, late in the afternoon and spent the evening acclimating to our new environment. I was in awe over the architecture and thoroughly enjoyed working in and out of the small twisting side streets and attempting to cross the main streets without having a collision with a vehicle. I got up early the next morning to start the day. The hotel has a rooftop restaurant for breakfast. Here is the spectacular view from the roof.
